ICT call 6 was released on 24 November 2009 and closed on 13 April 2010 (17.00 Brussels Time).   The  objective in question, ICT-2009.5.3: Virtual Physiological Human had four target outcomes:

  1. Development of patient-specific computer based models and simulation
  2. Development of ICT tools, services and specialised infrastructure for the bio-medical researchers
  3. Support action on evaluation and assessment of VPH projects
  4. Coordination action to develop an observatory on the achievements and evolution of the broader Biomedical Informatics field

Outcomes 1 and 2 called for Integrated Projects (IP) and 'small or medium-scale focused research actions' (STREP), while outcome 3 requested a Support Action (SA), and outcome 4 a Coordination Action (CA).

In total 112 proposals were submitted, with the following distribution: (IP = 16, STREP = 91, CA = 3, SA = 2).

The projects selected will be funded up to to maximum of €63m, of which there is €1m each for the CA and the SA, and a minimum of 30% to STREPs and of 50% to IPs.
