The Worldwide Challenge to Physiome and Systems Biology

The 2nd MEI International Symposium

Next 7-9 December, 2007, in Osaka, Japan, the international symposium The Worldwide Challenge to Physiome and Systems Biology - sponsored by the Center for Advanced Medical Engineering and Informatics (Osaka University) - will be held.

During the session World-wide movement of physiome and systems biology-related projects, Marco Viceconti, member of the organising committe, in quality of scientific coordinator of the EU funded project STEP: A strategy for the Europhysiome, which lasted from January 2006 to March 2007 and ended with the production of the VPH Roadmap, willl give a speech about the EuroPhysiome and the STEP action.

In the same session, Ilias Jakovis, EC Deputy Head, ICT for Health, DG Information Society and Media, will make a presentation of the Virtual Physiological Human (VPH) initiative within Europe.
