The reccomandation paper contains specific recommendations related to the workprogrammes of the seventh EC Framework Programme. This white paper is the outcome of a workshop organized in Thessaloniki at the end of February 2006, chaired by Prof. Nicos Maglaveras. It was sent to the European Commissioner for Research Dr. Janez Potocnik and to the Directorate Generals for Research and for Information Society and Media.

The reccomandation points to three priorities, the first being the Virtual Physiological Human.

The EAMBES is the alliance among most European bioengineering societies, and represent more than 8000 researchers and professionals in this field.

The The European Commission announced its proposals for the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) for EU research on 6 April 2005.
