Interest in Orthopaedic FP7 project

by Nick Granville last modified 2007-06-07 05:58

Smith & Nephew is interested in joining an FP7 project with an orthopaedic component. The Research Centre is based in York, UK.

Smith & Nephew was an exploitation partner in an FP6 project, and has since started to use the results from that project.  It is now ineterested in joining an FP7 project, with an orthopaedic component.  It was also part of the STEP project and so it well aware of the importance of multiscale modelling.  So a multiscale project combining, say, cells and implants would be of interest.  There must be many other examples of multiscale modelling with an orthopaedic component.

We are a world-wide company.  The Research Centre is based in York, UK, and the Orthopaedic division is based in Memphis, US.  However, there are excellent links between York and Memphis with much orthopaedic research taking place at York.  There is also a team of histologists and other scientists based at York
