The CIMST summer school will discuss the recent progress and current challenges in biological and medical imaging. The students will have theoretical training in the form of 60 minute lectures in the morning and practical sessions in the afternoon (either hands-on lab work or lab demonstrations, depending on the field). Each day will end with either a bio-medical lecture or a discussion round. Some lectures will be given parallel at beginner and advanced level.

About 50 Master or PhD students will be admitted with background in either biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, computer science or engineering (internally and from abroad). The school will be taught in English. Admission will be given via a selection process based on the curriculum vitae and a statement of purpose. The application deadline is Monday, June 02, 2008.

There is no conference registration fee. Students who have not yet started a PhD program could qualify for full or partial stipend for travel and accommodation. The selection will be based on CV, university grades, cover letter and letter of recommendation. The application deadline for a stipend is also Monday, June 02, 2008.
