DESCRIPTION:The scope of the summer school is to discuss advances and 
 challenges of imaging and processing techniques in biology and medicin
 e. On the basis of selected biomedical problems of multiple scales\, t
 he school will demonstrate cutting edge imaging methods (MRI\, PET/ SP
 ECT\, IR/ OCT\, 3D Time-resolved Microscopy\, Optical Microscopy/ Fluo
 rescence Microscopy\, Single molecule and particle Microscopy\, EM\, X
 -ray\, etc)\, explain their possibilities and limitations\, and discus
 s the advantages of combined approaches. In addition\, different suppo
 rting technologies (Image reconstruction\, Image enhancement\, Image s
 egmentation\, Data management\, Quantification and Tracking\, Diffusio
 n/ Modelling/ Simulation and Molecular reconstruction\, etc) will be i
 ntroduced and illustrated.
