What is VPH in the FP7?

This is a document which revises principle work programmes of FP7 2006-2007, highlighting the potential funding opportunities for research and technological development in relation to the creation and deployment of the Virtual Physiological Human.

Contrary to other documents produced by the STEP action, this one is not the result of a consensus process within the research community; rather it has been written by the STEP consortium partners as a service to such community.

Also, it should be noted that this document has not been endorsed by the European Commission or by any of its officers. The interpretation we give here of the text of the various workprogrammes of FP7 may be incorrect, incomplete, or just plainly wrong, and no case it should be considered to present a lecture of the FP7 workprogrammes strongly biased toward the VPH; it represents our hopes, but not necessarily the reality of the calls. Thus, any suggestion should be used with caution, and verified with the specific Commission services on a case-by-case basis directly by the proponents.
