How can I join the community?
There are two types of Biomed Town members: visitors and citizens
Visitors do not need in institutional profile, they are automatically approved and they have access to a limit part of the portal resources (those made available to everyone) while citizens need to register with a institutional profile and their application is processed by a manual operator, once approved they have access also to private resources according to the permissions granted by the resource owner.

How to become a visitor
Simply click on the join address and fill in your full name, username and email address. Your application will be automatically approved. Please remember to use a valid email address as there you will receive your password. In any moment you can apply to become a full citizen by selecting the appropriate link after being logged in.
How to become a member
Biomed Town is a free community of peers who have a professional or educational interest in biomedical research and technology. Anyone interested can submit his/her application to the City Managers. A form will appear in which you will have to fill your personal information. Please, remember to use your institutional email (i.e. email of the university), otherwise your application will be rejected. The fields with a red box near the title are mandatory.
The City Managers revise all applications (within 48 hours). We shall approve all applications if they report an institutional email address (not hotmail, yahoo, gmail, etc.) and an affiliation to a division, department, laboratory, course etc. clearly related to biomedical research and technology (in case this is not clear from your institutional role we invite you to fill the field Biomedical interests in the form). If your application does not fully match these criteria, it will be rejected. In that case, the reviewer may ask you to modify/add the uncomplete information and then revise again your application.
Once your application is approved, a password will be generated and e-mailed you at the email address you have specified into the Registration Form.
You can always log in in the right top side of Biomed Town pages, where you can also find the link to retrieve your password in case you lose it. If you forgot your user name or didn't correctly enter your e-mail address send a request by email.
