If you click on the subscribe link, you will signon for all forum topics, which will be sent to you via email as soon as they are posted.

Topics are standard messages, which can be replied/commented by other participants. Polls are a way to collect the opinion of the forum participants on a specific argument. The announcements are special topics that are kept highly visible; use them as little as possible.
Depending on forum settings you might not be able to create polls and announcements.
Attachments
You can also send mail with attachments, according these rules:
- one generic attach (doc, pdf, rtf, and so on ...)
- one image (jgp, gif, png, ...)
- one generic AND one image
- two image
all others configurations will be rejected.
Email From address
You MUST write email from the email address with which you've been registered on BiomedTown portal:
if you receive a message with something like "Member not found" it is probably
because you've written your mail from an address which is not the one registered
on BiomedTown. So you have two options:
- re-send the email from the right address
OR
- modify your preferences on BiomedTown changing your email address and
re-send the email
Reply To
The Reply-To field is set by default to sender address, not to forum. To send email to the forum you've to write by hand the forum address (which is also in the To field) or, if your mail client supports it, you can use the option reply to mailing list or something like this.
Important
known bugs and missing features
- text written between square brackets [ and ] is deleted, so please use round ones instead
- the attachments send by email are deleted, while those send by web interface are sended regularly. So please write your mail as simple text, and if you need to send an attach, do it by web interface or upload it in some place on the portal and send the link (FIXED)
- the system is case sensitive with email addresses. So it considers differently someone@somewhere.org and Someone@Somewhere.org. Please send your email from exactly the email address with you are subscribed to BiomedTown (FIXED)
